James Scott

James Scott, 33, grew up in Broome, in far North Western Australia where he found his appreciation for music. He became involved in Broome's flourishing musical scene singing in several bands beginning at age13.

"Being a young kid growing up during the 80's, and being surrounded by the local talent in Broome, I think, played a big role in what I wanted to achieve and where I wanted to be as a vocalist/songwriter".

"Mum was my mentor and teacher, she also was a singer back in the old days. I still remember the stories my Gran tells me about how beautiful her voice was and how she could work the stage and the audience". So James decided to follow in his mothers footsteps.

James left Broome to further his passion, and at age 17 he underwent vocal training in operatic & classical at the Academy of Performing Arts, Mt Lawley Perth. During this time, James decided to advertise to join a band. Because of his vocal style he was recruited by Tempest, a Prog Rock band, in which he was the vocalist for many years.

Early 2009, James moved from Western Australia to Bendigo, Victoria to persue his musical career in country.
James has met many artists since his move and is currently working with Rich Bice (musician/producer) who has worked with some of Australia's names of country - Stan Coster, Kasey Chambers, Olive Bice, Buddy Weston; just to name a few.

"I really wanted to get back to my roots and play and sing the way I wanted to".

It is undisputed that James musical appreciation ranges from country to hard rock, it is evident in his unique song writing. James says"Diversity is the key to appreciate all forms and genres of music”.

Golden Guitar Winner

Tracy Coster

Born in the bush – Raised on the road

TRACY COSTER was born into country music.Daughter of the legendary Stan Coster she grew up performing as a vital part of her fathers traveling show. One thing you can say about Coster, she is nothing if not determined.Passionate about her heritage and the heritage of country music, she continues to take her music on the road.

The award winning album Coster Countryis a collection of her Dad’s finest songs – a tribute to her late father StanCoster. The album features duets from the likes of John Williamson, Adam Harvey, Lee Kernaghan and Anne Kirkpatrick and there is also a very special duet with her Dad.

Songs filled with emotion and some of the finest vocals that I have ever heard from her – Charlie Sparrow, Blue’s Country Magazine

Coster Country received recognition being named Australian Independent Country Music Awards 2004 Heritage Track Of The Year with‘Bush Barbeque’.

Coster Country is a loving tribute … to the man and the music that was Stan Coster, delivered with depth and feeling by his daughter Tracy....shows that the new generation can get into our traditional Australian music. …well crafted, heartfelt tribute – Peter Coad, Capital News

Tracy’s whirlwind of success continued – receiving her first Golden Guitar for Vocal Collaboration with Anne Kirkpatrick for ‘Back to the Saltbush Plain’at the 2005 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards. Proceeding to take out back to back awards for Album OfThe Year & Comedy Song Of The Year at the Stan Coster Memorial Bush Ballad Awards.

This is one young lady who knows where she came from, where she wants be, and just keeps on getting better.

Recently claiming the 2005 Australian Independent Country Music Awards Album Of The Year & NSW Golden Medallion Awards Female Vocalist Of The Year.

The new single ‘I Don't Want To Talk About Rain’ released early 2006, gained chart success on the Top 30 Country Tracks chart. The follow up to the successful album Coster Country, it is a light hearted look at the typical Aussie trait of always mentioning the weather, regardless of what the direction the conversation takes.

It also features two additional tracks ‘Why Do I Feel Like Crying’ and ‘Murrumbidgee River song Blues’, originally recorded at Hadley studios in Tamworth in 1985 and only previously released on vinyl – a collectors item.

Tracy knows first hand the joys and hardships of life on the road. Seventeen years of touring with her father non stop - we’re talking right through the centre; all through the outback; mining towns; missions; pubs; clubs; schools, you name it they played it. Towing caravans, changing tyres, loading in and setting up equipment were just some of her job descriptions.  Five nights a week, ten months of the year she learned about paying her dues.
