 November 2009

Hi there,

Due to a death in the family of one of the members of "Mantell", they will not be able to perform for us this Friday (November 6) at the Pascoe Vale RSLas originally advertised.

The Dalton Gang have agreed to play for us instead.

FRIDAY 9 NOVEMBER - THE DALTON GANG

Leo Dalton - vocals, lead guitar, banjo & fiddle

Helen Stewart - vocals and bass

Stuie Lees - vocals and drums

Winners of the Most Popular Band Award at the Country Music Guild 2004 and 2005.

Classic country.

As always, check The Guild's website for up to date information, links to artists websites and myspace pages where you can hear their music.

Check out Amber Joy Poulton's myspace page (there is a link to it on our website) and listen to samples of every track on her new CD "Taking Goodbye". She will be launching this CD on Friday November 20 with backing by former Texan Doug Bruce and The Tailgaters.

She also released her Loretta Lynn Tribute CD "Honky Tonk Angels" mid year and will be selling both CD's and performing tracks from both CD's at her launch on November 20.

Thanks

Frank

  Hi Once again,

The Country Music Guild has a couple of great shows coming up over the next 2 weeks at the Pascoe Vale RSL.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11: THE TIM FARREN BAND

This Friday (September 11) sees the return of the popular Tim Farren Band to The Guild. Tim recently won the inaugural "Most Popular Vocalist" award as voted by the members of the Country Music Guild.

Come along for a great night of country music.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 18: SANDRA HUMPHRIES (Sth. Australia) & THE DOUG BRUCE BAND

Sandra hails from Mt Gambier in South Australia and this will be her only show in Melbourne.

She will be backed by her husband Henry on lead guitar, our own Dave (Tex) Grantham on bass and Texan Doug Bruce on drums.

Sandra is a regular performer at the Tamworth and Mildura country music festivals. She also performed at the Gympie Muster last month.

Her debut disc, "Every Road", produced by Bill Chambers, won her Artist/Album of the Year at the Tasmanian and New Zealand Independent Awards. She also won the Female Vocal Award at the 2004 TIARAs (Tamworth Independent Artists' Recognition Awards). "Love on the Side", a duet with Bill Chambers, won Sandra the Vocal Collaboration TIARA in 2005.

Her second album, "Take The Pain Away", was also produced by Bill Chambers. The first radio release "Biggest Fool Around" went Top 20 on the country charts and also won the 2007 TIARA for Female Vocal.

Her third album "I'm Worth It", recorded in Nashville with Aussie Travis List, was released in Tamworth this year. The title track recently made it to the Top 10 on the Australian Country Music Charts.

Forget about the football, make the effort to come along and enjoy a special night.

You can hear her songs on My space: http://www.myspace.com/sandrahumphries1
